NUEVA ESPERANZA

Loving Support for Mothers and Children

Nueva Esperanza is a residential recovery home for pregnant women and mothers with their young children. The stately Victorian is a safe place for six women and up to 10 children.

Mothers who suffer from the damages of addiction are often lacking in the ability to meet the needs of their children. In addition to offering a full spectrum of recovery services, the program helps moms be moms again.

Services designed to integrate recovery and improve parenting are central to treatment for mothers. Children who have been neglected at a crucial time in their development receive medical, emotional, cognitive and developmental assessments and services. And lots of love and support.

The program also offers supportive assistance for the special needs of pregnant women as they begin the process of recovery.

The Path to Recovery

Treatment begins with intake followed by assessment. Individualized treatment planning is the essential next step, providing the blueprint for recovery.

All the elements of the program are aimed at maintaining recovery after graduation through relapse prevention counseling, education, individual counseling, and personal help such as stress and anger management, plus emphasis on 12-Step principles and practices. Psychological counseling is also available for clients with mental health problems.

Door to Hope utilizes the following evidence-based practices:

  1. Motivational Enhancement Therapy

  2. Twelve-Step Facilitated Therapy

  3. Seeking Safety for trauma-exposed clients

  4. Matrix Model

  5. Parents as Teachers
